Ok so having something strange here. I have a pass to record OKC Thunder games. I have tweaked my pass so it excludes all but the actual game aired on ESPN+.
This seems to work fine but I have duplicate recordings scheduled. Not really wanting to edit my pass I just selected the second one to skip. It disappears from the schedule page. The I refresh the page and it reappears. Does anyone know how to get around this?
Asking a basic question now and I'm sure you already checked this but asking anyway: is it really the same recording (i.e. same time) that reappears?
Just checking in case the same recording may be shown again at different times and the DVR may pick the next one.
Honestly it looks like a duplicate airing from the eplus channels. Both have the same title and same air time bur different channels. Not sure there is a way in the pass to prevent duplicates but the puzzling thing to me is that i cant delete one of them
You would have to look at the gracenote ProgramID for both airings. They must be different, which tells Channels DVR they are different programs.
I think that is the issue, with eplus there arent any gracenote ids
If you're using ESPN+ & FOX Sports with Custom Channels via EPlusTV you should ask m0ngr31. I don't use it.
Yeah, because it is EPlus, every event has a unique program ID (doesn't just have to be a Gracenote ID because things like Pluto don't have Gracenote IDs, either; but they do have their own unique program labeling system). Thus, Channels thinks they are also unique shows, hence why they are both scheduled. You are on the right path for how to get only one, though. You just have to keep adding criteria to find a way for the other listing to be eliminate (if possible). You're probably going to have to look at the XML directly to see if there is something else you can add to your settings. Otherwise, you could put in an exclude in the Summary for ESPN3 because it is less likely that the primary stream would be on that station.
If the first is not a rerun you could add "Tags == New"
Tags == New is not reliable.

Yes which is often.... Maybe EPLUS is reliable Gracenote has it's Problems.
All guides do. For some channels Gracenote is mostly fine and for others meh.
