Alternative Approaches to Picture in Picture

This topic has been discussed to death and I know lots of newcomers to Channels often wonder about it. Channel has a reasonable explanation here: https://getchannels.com/docs/apps/usage/picture-in-picture/

That said, it seems most people want PIP on their TV so they can keep video in the background while they browse for the next thing to watch. I know that's the use case it comes in most handy, for me at least. Anyway, I just wanted to share two methods that have made me miss PIP less, in case others don't know about them yet:

  1. Tap or swipe DOWN while watching something, and use the Quick Guide. I have mine set to Favorites.

  2. Use Channels on my iPhone or Android, as a Guide selector. Yes, it's a second screen, but it works really well. When you tap "Watch" you're given options to watch on the phone, or the TV running the Channels app. This direct integration works brilliantly, and feels very efficient. Better than using the physical remote! Maybe even better than Picture in Picture
