An easy way for Channels DVR to watch YouTube Live vids

It's been working for me during this entire discussion. I keep testing, but can't seem to get the issue to happen!

I wonder if it's because I'm using the w= method for individual stations instead of the v= way with all the streams?

I also use the w= method.
I just tried https://kister.net/mpl/yt2m3u8?w=@KittenAcademy in VLC and it also shows a 403 error.

Weird, it totally loves me!

Same in VLC, nothing in the logs.

@jkister, is there something I can provide you that might help identify why I'm not having issues and other are as a baseline of some kind?

It’s broken for me as well, I pm’d him with the link I was using when he asked. I only use a single link, not massive amounts of links.

I only had two that I was using. Neither one works using the master playlists url his server returns. If I use the master playlist url from the youtube live site I find by using my browser, that works in VLC and Channels, for six hours, then expires.

Could this have something to do with “sign in to confirm”…
I noticed that happening few months back….im trying to rebuild from scratch my sources….once I get to original Computer by end of week I’ll see if it works on it….

Nah im getting 403 errors. Im not sure how the back end is configured but @jkister what source ip does youtube see when a reqest is made?

His public IP from his website is most likely black listed with youtube

I dunno, I'm still working, so I'm thinking there's another factor. Maybe ISP related? I'm Verizon FIOS if that makes a difference.

I found a workaround for Kister method.

Create new Personal Section (Button Row)
Add URL Button
Add youtube:// to your URL, for example -> youtube://https://youtube.com/playlist?list=TLa7N10

I create several URL buttons to link my YouTube playlist to view various collection of live cam.

what do you think a working link on TV Republika from YouTube should look like now so that it works again on the m3u list on the IPTV player?

@Bonecrusher52’s anpproach above, is somewhat different, in that it provides a button in Channels for a deep link that launches directly into the YouTube app to play the livestream in question.

It doesn’t integrate the stream into the live guide like the Kister Method does, or did. It’s a solid workaround though, to be able to watch the same content. It’s just not presenting as an IPTV stream that Channels DVR can index and time-shift along with all of its other “custom channels.”
