Here is my updated m3u with channels above 500 - HBO, STARZ, MGM+, some randoms, and a few sports networks. It wasn't as many as I expected so isn't that different from before. Oh, and I also fixed a handful of channels that were mistakenly linked to the west coast/Pacific feed of the channel when they shouldn't have been:

I also wanted to call out that a couple of times I've seen recordings where it never seemed to tune the channel correctly. I haven't had a chance to try to debug it, but it seemed like maybe it never detected that the app loaded correctly (I think it has some logic around detecting audio) and so didn't kick off the search and tune. I'm interested in if the new force stopping the app will resolve that so will keep an eye on it with the newest build.

I forgot to mention that I also fixed an issue with tuning to the "last tuned station", where things would appear as you described.

The idea is to not retune to a station that's already the currently active station. It doesn't save as much tuning time as it did with the old version of the DTV app, but there is still an advantage. Anyway, it's working properly again now.

Pushed new bnhf/ah4c:latest (aka bnhf/ah4c:2024.03.18) with a few fixes/improvements based on feedback from the recent test version.

DirecTV, DTV Stream and channels available in the FireTV LiveTV guide are the focus for this update. Both directv.m3u and dtvstream.m3u contain many new channel definitions (thanks @chrispederick!).

Additional optimizations have been added to cover various quirks of the "new" DTV app. The DTV app is now being force closed after each streaming session, and requested channels are always re-tuned -- whether they were the last channel or not. As always with DTV, the emphasis is on tuning reliability rather than speed.

To get started on my project I ordered the 4 port URay and the RevoData PoE splitter.

I was a bit surprised to discover that the RevoData unit I received has a 2.1mm barrel that’s too small to fit the URay’s power connector.

To be sure it wasn’t an Amazon mistake I reordered the same RevoData unit but the 2nd one is also too small.

Now I’m thinking the 2.5mm version might be the correct part. Anyone else have trouble getting the right fit? If so which part needed up working?

I went back and confirmed my Amazon order history, and it's showing I bought 4x of the 5.5x2.1mm version in July of last year -- which tracks, as I have 3 encoders, plus I wanted a spare.

I suppose it's possible I got the wrong part, that happened to actually be correct, but I have no way of checking that until I'm home again in mid-May. If the diameter seems good, but the hole for the pin is too small, 5.5x2.5mm is almost certainly right.

There's also an outside chance the URayCoder people made a change -- but that seems less likely.

It has the same part number as the 2.1mm version with a "-25" at the end.

Yes. They have Disney Channel, Disney JR and Disney XD with a TV Provider login.

I just played around with the DisneyNOW app for a few minutes, and it looks doable -- but it is a little bit of a funky interface. Opening the app, navigating to "On Now", letting it tune to the first channel in the list, and finally getting rid of the top menu bar would be the first task.

After that, tuning is pretty straightforward, as the KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT always takes you to the first channel in the 3 channel list. So then, one would simply select that top channel, or move KEYCODE_DPAD_DOWN once or twice for the other two.

Having said that, what provider would you be using? It's possible there's a better way to attack this.

Can this be used to capture Netflix and other On Demand apps? I get there's PlayOn for that, but I'd rather capture locally to watch later.

There is a way to do it manually if you are using the uray network encoder. This is how I do it to avoid the horrid youtubetv splash screen on some of my movies:

Open the network feed with vlc:
-Go to Media --> Open Network Stream and input the address for one of your streams like http://192.168.1.168/0.ts -This should take you to to the home screen of your android tuner device.

-Navigate to the movie you want with your remote and it start.
-At the same time you hit start enter the following or something of the sort in your terminal:

ffmpeg -i http\://192.168.1.168/8.ts -f mpegts -codec\:v copy -codec\:a copy -t 02:00:00 TestMovie.ts

I have told ffmpeg to record for 2 hours and then stop a movie called TestMovie.ts. It will stop recording after two hours.

A simple bash script for this would be something like this:

capture.sh

ffmpeg -i http\://192.168.1.168/0.ts -f mpegts -codec\:v copy -codec\:a copy -t $1 $2

I would call it like so:

./capture.sh 02:00:00 TestMovie.ts

If you want to capture a series you could set up some adb timed event to stop the recording, restart the recording process. I am tempted to but I don't have time until summer. Also my coding skills are limited and so I wouldn't be able to set up things like automatic naming of series in the sequence for recording an entire season of something. Movies are much more straight forward.

What would be good for now if it hasn't already been implemented is the creation of a very basic adb remote interface so that the user can navigate (and maybe execute the ffmpeg record command above) whatever screen they are previewing.

Isn't that what the NEXTPVR developer does with EXTRAS. You View it in NEXTPVR and Hit Record when what you want starts

Thanks! Have never used extras like that in nextpvr. Saw it mentioned but never tried. Is it able to accommodate adb automation (like to stop at a certain time and start a new episode after switching to it)?

The extra can also run a batchfile or script .... you can also extract NEXTPVR M3U and bring into channels.

Firstly, thanks to OP and @spammedeeper. I have the osprey boxes, only testing 1 until I can get it fully working. I have docker running, portainer. I can load the web service, and I have the scripts and all environments set.... but when I tune nothing happens? I got the original RSA authorization on the box but nothing after that. Nothing shows in the logs to indicate anything.
