BETA: PlayOn Cloud integration (prerelease)

PlayOn imports suffer from the same limitation on Trash as normal imports, for now. So you can't use the trash to remove them. We'll be resolving this soon!

So if you want to remove something, delete it from the folder and run Prune Deleted in the Imports section.

I hope that you can add some kind of PIN if deleting from imports ... Usually shows/movies in imports is something users want to keep... Do not want to see the ability to delete from just any client. Especially after paying for credits.

OK. That will work.

Thanks,

Am on DVR version 2021.02.03.0059

I have tried to add playon source a few times, it does popup window and I get the "paired" notice.

But there is nothing in the Channels UI (under sources or anywhere else) that indicates it is setup.

I thought I read it would display under sources when setup.

Also, no "playon" folder exists.

I am running Channels DVR on a Qnap NAS , and interacting with the UI from a windows machine, does that have anything to do with failing to install/setup? (ie, can this source be setup from web UI served from a machine separate from the DVR itself)?

Which browser are you using?

FireFox V 84.0 64-bit

sorry, meant V 85.0

I do have chrome ( Version 88.0.4324.146 (Official Build) (64-bit) ) and just tried (first time) using DVR UI in it, tried adding, got same kind of "paired" notice, but nothing (yet) in DVR sources to indicate it working.

Okay I found the bug causing it not to work sometimes. I'm uploading a fix now, so wait about 20 minutes then update and try again.

Will do. DVR is busy for the next 1.5-2 hours. Will try update then, thanks!

Cool. v2021.02.03.2228 is ready with the fix.

This is an interesting feature, mainly because it enables local recording from sources that would otherwise be restricted to the cloud.

To be honest, this begs the question - if this functionality is feasible then why leverage PlayOn instead of working directly with those content sources (i.e. Prime Video, Netflix, etc.)?

I got the Playon source to work now (using Firefox) and see in logs that it has begun the download of a recording.

Is there a process in place to only download one time (ie, if I were to remove the downloaded file, it would not attempt to re-download would it)? (If so, then I'd wait 7 days till it goes away from Playon before moving it)

Thanks!

Yes, it will only download once.

It is working, but almost too good! It is utilizing maximum bandwidth (1Mbps) which is not fatal, but does slow down other downloads, etc a bit while it runs.

Is there anyway to "pause" or "schedule time of day" the download activity. Even if it is a behind the scenes CURL call, it would be useful.

For now (once it has caught up with several downloads in a row), I will plan to "start" any playon recordings late in the evening, so that it won't impact me during the day.

From one programmer to another , great job in this and all features of your software!

Got my first out of sync recording ... filed ticket with playon cloud ... If they reschedule recording will Channels DVR redownload ?

I'm not sure how they reschedule. If it's a new recording it should redownload and replace the old file. LMK what happens.
