Ok this has been happening of late

  • Appletv (and Amazon Firestick)
  • Channel will start to play sometimes it’s fine sometimes if buffers badly stops until you change channel and back to it.
  • have tried beta and Norma version
  • running pre release 3.31 on MiniPc windows
  • internet speeds 300 and 1.0gig
  • also happens on cellar (5g)
  • changed internet streaming to 8mbs from original
  • change to experimental video driver too.

Any ideas?

The beta of the DVR eliminated most of these pauses. Now I only pause if I happen to tune to a channel when it is in a commercial. Seems something about commercials coming from a third party source can cause a buffer.

Also while no one has been able to figure out why, if you disable IPv6 on your DVR it really cuts down on the number of pauses, and several of us all running different platforms have seen the same result.

This is often due to the inserted commercials having different base timestamps, which causes these weird situations. This can sometimes be fixed by rewriting timestamps after recording, but there really isn't anything that Channels can due while it is streaming live.

I eliminated my buffer issue that plagued me for almost a year of remote streaming by changing my main router out.
