After recording a show, the menu shows 2 files one ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes.
and another showing the full 30 mins of the show! After investigating the 2 files, both played fine!
I deleted the smaller file and the larger file is unplayable! This happens EVERY time I record something!
Can someone help me figure out what the problme is?

Take a screenshot of your Channels DVR web admin UI settings so we can see it.
The important sections are Basic Setup > DVR recording directory and Local Content sources directories.
You most likely have a local content source directory pointing to the directory where Channels DVR records to.

Note: You should have a folder for movies and a folder for TV shows. These folders can not be in your DVR folder where Channels saves its recordings.
You can not import movies or TV shows by putting them in the movies or tv folder in your DVR data folder.
