Clicker - An Unofficial Player for Channels DVR Server- written in Rust

You know, I didn't think of that. I will maybe just have it fail with an error dialogue saying that it needs some sort of graphics.

It just needs that to be able to render video with the player I chose. And the reason why I chose that player was because I initially based this off of DVR Desk. It was going to just be a PR to that. But I realized they were using a built-in Chromium sort of player, and that didn't handle AC3 audio. So I initially hand rolled my own player and it worked horribly, and then moved to MPV.

I'll see if maybe there's a flag I can set to get it to work, but I'm not certain that's possible. Does VLC work in this VM?

If it does, then it could be a genuine bug, and I might be able to try to find a solution!

Tried this version and still getting the same problem. Will have to do some more troubleshooting to see if I can figure it out.

I don't know how I can help you because it's not happening to me. I'm sorry, but this is open-source software, and honestly, I would suggest opening Claude Code and trying to fix it.

I tried. Sorry.

I am releasing 1.3.3. This fixes bnhf's RDP bug.
I also attempted once more to fix channel collections.

@LazarusLong let me know if this resolves it.

I've used Clicker a few times over the last week and it works pretty well. The web player doesn't work for some of my tuners so using Clicker is a great alternative.

One problem for me is that on my Win 11 laptop, it won't keep the screen on so I have to touch a key or move the mouse to turn the screen back on. Is there a keep alive setting or such that I'm missing somewhere?

Also, when I tried Picture in Picture on my Win 10 desktop the program died. That's not a big deal to me, just pointing it out.

Thanks!

I haven't actually watched a show to run into this issue, one work-around I always have handy is powertoys awake

So, very late last night, I implemented a screen on feature to work around this issue. If someone can please test it and let me know if it actually does what it says it does, I'm hoping it works. I personally have not tested it because I use Clicker while using my computer at the same time, so I wouldn't run into it.

Please do let me know it's implemented across all three platforms.

I also implemented an update checker. So now you should be able to just pull a release right from GitHub and install it, both on Mac, Linux, and Windows. I am looking into the Windows 10 picture-in-picture crashing right now and going to cut another release. There are a few stale releases that are kind of just like in between me testing the updater function.

I tried v1.3.8 on my Win 11 laptop and the screen still turns off. Just to make sure it wasn't something with the laptop, I fired up VLC to stream a show and it kept the screen on.

Did you check "Keep screen on while playing" in settings?

Yeah, you had the setting off. I just confirmed that it works. I made it opt-in, not opt-out.

Yep, sorry, was not expecting to need to set it. I dl'ed 1.3.9 and this works for me now. Thanks so much!

Yeah, I don't like changing behavior of how a tool works without a user's consent, so I left it off by default. Especially considering this affects how power management is handled.

Any chance of getting Clicker to view in-progress recordings?
Using latest v1.3.9 and it doesn't let you select in-progress recordings (doesn't even dislpay them until they're finished recording).

I'll take a look at that when I have some more energy. Could you open an issue on GitHub so I remember?

I'm not sure if you're aware, but I just spent the last two weeks writing half of AH4C all over again, so I'm a little tired. :joy:

I don't have a GitHub account.
Take your time

just to quickly follow up on this, since I looked again. the glitch appears to be with cdvr with playon (desktop) recordings from 2024 on this screen on the android apps. I can find no metadata anywhere for the July 21, 2185 that shows for playon files.

Hi Tried this out this morning on my MAC. I really like it.

There is already a button to skip forward on commercial breaks, is it possible to add another transport button to skip backwards over the commercial breaks?

edit:

I noticed that clicker isnt handling virtual channels sources very well:

All right, everyone who has bugs, please open GitHub issues. And if you don't have GitHub, please open an issue for that person because I can't track all these on the forums. And I'm not going to get to this for a little while, but I will get to it.

I decided after some thought that I need to shed some projects for my own wellbeing/time etc. So I am going to be archiving this repo. Please feel free to fork and continue.

Its unfortunate but your personal health is #1. I guess I'll go back to using JF or web browser + VLC.
