The latest beta of the DVR server seems to have broken commercial detection on some sources. For example none of the shows I record from CBS detect commercials anymore.
I rolled the server back to the last Stable version and commercial detection started to work again.
I've had the same issue with CBS the past week or so (NCAA tournament games). Was able to resolve by rewriting timestamps then asking it to detect commercials again.
In my case I'm also recording CBS in MPEG2/from my HDHomerun.
I tried that too, but when I told it to re-detect commercials I see on the interface it starts for about 1/2 second and then the process stops.
You will have to submit DVR diagnostics to the DEV's or provide more information to be helped by the Community.
CDVR version running, CBS via HDHR OTA or CABLE or CDVR TVE channel. CDVR log and comskip log data, etc.
oh right, should have done that. This is from an HDHR OTA and I was on the latest beta as of earlier this week. I rolled it back to the last stable which is 2025.02.19.1823 and commercial detection works fine on that.

Might want to state exactly what version that "earlier this week beta" was and I would suggest submitting DVR Diagnostics for the Developers to look at.
I have been sticking to the last stable version, anyone know if this issue has been fixed in the beta yet?
What are you running Channels DVR Server on?
Is it failing on every channel, or just certain channels?
Are the failing channels ATSC 3.0?
Best to submit DVR diagnostics to the developers, since the info you provided isn't enough for us community members to help troubleshoot.

Runs on an Intel Mac. Seems to fail on all OTA. I don't use ATSC 3.0. Works fine on 2025.02.19.1823
Still best to submit DVR diagnostics when the issue happens.
Only one mention of a comskip change in the DVR Pre-Release notes since that stable version release, but not all changes are detailed in every release note.
You could update to the latest pre-release, test it and reload the stable release if it's not fixed after submitting diagnostics. If you don't, most likely the next stable release will still have the problem.
You could also update to latest, but just drop the comskip binary from the last known good version into the latest directory, replacing it.
Ok, I updated to the latest stable today and comskip is still not working. I then took the comskip file from the February stable version and dropped it into 2025.04.17.1651 and comskip works. So this narrows it down to something with just the comskip file since the stable version released in February.
In order for the developers to troubleshoot your issue (mine is working fine) you need to submit diagnostics from the DVR when it fails and maybe provide the last few lines from the comskip log.
That, or just remember to keep replacing the comskip executable every time you update.
This is now fixed.
