Commercial detection seems to fail on large files

2024/01/05 12:01:00.404073 [DVR] Running commercial detection on file 12388 (TV\Varney\Varney S2024E05 Friday 010524 2024-01-05-0854.mpg)
2024/01/05 12:20:03.884485 [DVR] Commercial detection failed for Varney S2024E05 Friday 010524 2024-01-05-0854.mpg: exit status 1

The recording is 3 hours and 8 minutes. I re-ran Commercial detection again, and again it failed. 1 hour files from the same network work fine.

Sounds like your server may not have enough memory/RAM to process the file ...

Check the comskip log file for that recording to see if the last few lines show an error message.
Usually exit status 1 means it couldn't find commercials.

Example

I don't have ATSC 3.0. The video/comskip logs are already gone, but I will check out the next ones on Monday. Thanks for the pointer.

I was just pointing to a previous post I made on the subject, rather than having to repost basically the same thing again about where the comskip log is and what to look for.

It looks like my Windows 10 machine with 16gb of memory, just ran out of memory.

3 Dockers, virus scan, continuous backup, weather station, and everything Channels is doing is just too much for my old HP,

Just ordered another 16 gb of memory.

Was there an error showing in the comskip log that leads you to believe it's out of memory?

Yes, I got the following:
2024/01/06 13:33:28.978622 [DVR] Commercial detection failed for Fox for Lunch S2024E06 Saturday 010624 2024-01-06-1315.mpg: exit status 16

My research indicates that error 16 is a memory allocation error. Then I did some looking around and found that my memory usage was running above 90%.

Today I doubled my memory and my memory usage is down to 40%.

Ahh, that's from the DVR log, not the comskip log.
Not important, but just wondered what it said in the comskip log for the recording.
