Fox News and Fox Business put up a static screen when they go to a commercial break and don't want to show the commercials to the TVE stream.
It would be very helpful if Channels DVR was able to skip these segments.

Comskip doesn't recognize these placeholders as commercials because they don't act like commercials. You could post a request in their forum and see if they can make their software work for these placeholders.
For shows on CNN that I record (they use placeholders too) I deselect check for commercials so the server doesn't waste cycles on trying to detect was isn't there.
Can you selectively turn off checking?

Shouldn't there be something under "Manage Series Pass"?
Agree you should be able to set commercial detection on or off when setting pass.
Any possibility of getting com skip working for Fox News/Business?
Thanks!
@Maddox @tmm1 Is this something we could get for these 'static' splash screens where commercials should be? Or is there already a setting I am unaware of 'recently'?
It seems that with some of them the image is static but there is some movement in the background. Does the system find that hard to detect?

Try getting those channels from Fox One using EPlusTV with your provider credentials.
You get to see all of the pharmaceutical commercials you want there
This may be of interest to you. I have Fubo. when I get Fox News through TVE, I get the splash screens you talk about. However, when I get Fox News through VLC Bridge Fubo, I get the real commercials.
