Hey so I'm trying to figure this out before September 27th when I record movies from AMC for FearFest but I used to always have commercials included in the broadcasts and now it never has any and just says "AMC - We'll Be Right Back". It says that over and over again till the movie comes back on. I'm using the source "Youtube TV". I tried it with DirecTV but same problem happens. I never used to have this problem, now I do and I need to figure this out before that day. Does anyone know what to do to fix it and such? Let me know below!
Nothing you can do. This is directly from the feed from the network.
Is there a reason that on the actual Youtube TV on Youtube's site for AMC, the commercials show up 100% of the time but then on Channels DVR with the source being Youtube TV, they haven't lately? Did something change?
You'd have to ask the network. You are viewing the feed directly from them., YTTV has nothing to do with it except for auth.
The network will block ads on the TVE version of AMC.
I got so tired of the practice that i moved over to using ADB Tuner with YTTV.
YTTV has one of the best insertion systems i've seen.
Philo also has AMC but ad insertion isn't quite as nice but it is getting there.
Eventually you will want to move off recording and watching TVE stations.
Really? Complaining about not have ads/commercials...
Ok. Whatever floats your boat.
I much prefer the calm serenity of a static, we'll be back soon screen over annoying and often very repetitive commercials.
This is baffling to me as well. I much rather have the quiet over every other commercial about the latest pharmaceutical miracle drug for irritable bowl syndrome.
But maybe Commercial skip does not catch that???
O
I'm all about blocking ads but FC is just annoying.
I much prefer the version on yttv app.
The insertion cover up is so bad i would rather just see the adds.
What is “FC?” And what is “ad insertion coverup?” I’ve not seen these terms before.
Channels supports detecting and skipping the static "we'll be right back!" screens for many channels. As I recall, they need to explicitly add the channels that do it to detect the commercial blocks correctly.
Here's a thread about it: BETA: Smart Commercial Detection for TVE & Pluto - #3 by rccoleman
And it's much, much better to get silence when watching live than all the drug commercials.
I thought it was automatic for TVE/Custom M3U channels (if the stream was compatible) unless they black-listed the channel. i.e. opt-out channels it doesn't work correctly on.
