Is there a way to add DirecTV as a native source (not TVE) in Channels; or are people using streamlinks to open the DirecTV app from Channels?

Not sure what you are looking for here. Your only option to view/record content in Channels is TVE. Since you're using a streaming service, a network tuner like an HDHomeRun will not work.

There are other options that will give you recordings in Channels DVR:

I have come across this project that looks interesting for Fubo. All channels except disney and premiums expose an m3u8 during playback. Perhaps someone could figure out how to deploy it? Would be awesome to get something like this piped directly into channels

Has anyone been successful in using deeplinks for DirecTV Stream to launch the live station from within the Channels app? I know that dfw:// opens the app, but is there a way to setup individual channels to open using Streamlinks?

DTV and DTVStream deeplinks are now possible using ah4c or ADBTuner, combined with an HDMI encoder. Determining the deeplinks that are applicable to your location and DTV package are a somewhat advanced skill -- but it can be done:

FYI, DirecTV's app does have deep links. But they're not in an easy to guess format, and satelite, internet and stream customers have different values, and the values for the RSNs vary from area to area as they have seperate entries for out of market national and hyperlocalized feeds.
