Duplicate channels from 1 source supported, with TVG data?

I have a single M3U source with multiple channels assigned the same tvg-id. Channels DVR picks these channels up fine, but only the first channel in the list gets XMLTV episode guide data listed. The others get placeholder "[Channel Name] @ 10:00AM" listings.

Can the same tvg-id data be assigned to multiple channels from a single source? Is there a reason why the episode guide data wouldn't simply be displayed for all channels in the list?

Not sure what you mean. It is required that the M3U have a unique channel-id per entry. If there are duplicates then the behavior is undefined. Probably the last one would win.

Use of "channel-id" with m3u4u, "backup" URLs for the same channel

If channel-id is missing then tvg-name is used. If that's missing too, an ID is made up using the position of the channel in the list. This is not reliable if channels are added or removed and channels shift around. IDs must be unique and if there are duplicates they will be ignored. For backup behavior you could try a second source that uses the same IDs, but I'm not 100% if that works.

tvg-id is used to map to guide data and is not unique. I mentioned tvg-name is used as a fallback.

Sorry, you're right. The answers to my previous posts have led me to new questions, but it seems I'm going about it the wrong way. I'll look to consolidate my questions into one of my previous posts.
