I have a family member in the hospital. With firestick connected to the hospital wifi, this is the response from the server:
All other streaming apps on the firestick work fine (Netflix and such). Is there any way to resolve this?

I’m no networking expert, but maybe there’s something interfering at their network/router level? Maybe a VPN or something like Tailscale at the device level would be worth a try,
No idea. I don't know what tailscale is either. I just know that every streaming service on the firestick works fine except for Channels DVR.
Could be blocking 8089. Sometimes free wifi networks only allow 53, 80, 443. You might want to consider tailscale.
I was going to say: Maybe it’s something with the Hospital network side. Maybe try temporarily tethering with your cellphone to see if it works.
But I think slampman has a better idea.
Was about to say something similar.
If you can access it remotely from the hospital using the Channels app on your phone, that proves your Channels Server remote access is working.
Then if tethering the Firestick to your phone works, that proves it's an issue with the hospital wifi.
You don't connect back to your home internet on specific weird ports with streaming services. The comparison isn't the same at all.
Like everyone else suggested, this is likely the hospital network ops blocking certain things. You're on a very hostile network. Tailscale or VPN would probably solve this.
I had the same issue at a hotel abroad last year... using the Tailscale feature solved right away. Here's where I learned about this feature:
Best of luck and I hope your family member recovers quickly.
