The DVR is not showing up on the Apple TV app.
I’ve restarted the Apple TV, and unchecked, re-checked the bonjour checkbox. Still nothing…
Do the Apple TV and Synology I’m using need to be on the same subnet? I have my media devices and servers on separate subnets right now.
Changing the vlan and DHCP reservation for the Apple TV enabled the DVR communication.
I assume the bonjour communication only works via Layer 2.
I setup mdns forwarding on my router. I have devices on firewalled subnets too.
Changing the AppleTV back to its original vlan and enabling mDNS forwarding resolved the issue.
