Amazon has the Exvist HDMI Encoder marked down to $61 with the $20 coupon. I use these and they work good for me.

i bought 2 of these encoders. The units work great as long as youcan get audio and video properly.

So far they have been working great for me. It's hard to beat the price.
The devices run cool and settings don't shift.
You can set it and forget it.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the use case for this with CDVR?
