It works pretty darn amazing the way it is right now. Thanks for the hard work on this.
Glad to hear this. I also get “micro pauses” sometimes soon after tuning a station, even on a gig wired network with no transcoding. The tuning is super fast, and I love that snappy feel, but that also means very little buffer. I feel like maybe 3-5 seconds of buffer when watching live content would give a little more grace for tiny network hiccups. Maybe a loading indicator of some kind (as already suggested above) would also help users see that the buffer is being filled when the channel is first tuned. Just some thoughts.
While I’m opining, would also love to see some kind of “live” indicator on the timeline when you get there so you know not to try skipping any more (skip forward commands would also be ignored in this state).
Good to hear you're looking into it.
I have issues on a wired 1Gb local network watching Live TV in a browser. If I let the player buffer about 10 seconds before starting playback, no issues. Maybe it's just me, but I don't mind waitnig 10 seconds if I know that overcomes buffering/pausing/glitching.
The browser player uses a completely different system from the apps. My comments were referring to the apps.
Thanks for clarifying.
