FastChannels - FAST Channels aggregator/manager

My top wish list item for the week is improved visibility of feed and channel number assignments on the Channels and Guide tabs. I would suggest that the Preview modal on the Channels tab and the modal that pops up when you click a channel in the guide display the feed memberships and corresponding channel numbers.

(I know the little folder button on the Channels tab will show the feeds, but it doesn't always show the channel number and there is danger of accidentally changing feed membership.)

Only outside of Channels DVR that I can see. It generates a neat m3u that can be used elsewhere.

FWIW, I ran a stream audit and found that most (if not all) of the channels needing review were either DRM or dead. So it turned out to be pretty easy to disable those in bulk.

I wonder why! :joy:

Unsure but let me dig into it. Looks like UX bug - which is a good sign if it’s at least working on CDVR.

No channels stuck in Review... and I tested the PrismCast bridge interface which is now working properly... but when I add Amazon Prime Channels as a feed, it still returns 0 channels even though the source says I have 890 "ok"... not sure why I can't add them...

I wiped and re-installed FC over the weekend, disabled all sources except plex, and it automatically assigned gracenote channels perfectly. This morning I woke to find the gracenote channels were gone, and when I checked FC a majority of the channels were marked "O" (as in gracenote mode: off) and the IDs removed. Any idea what causes this?

expand the Prismcast output button at bottom - how many does it show there?

It doesn't actually show a number

Yes - u have 910 in that m3u

Ahhh, I didn't see the tiny number in parentheses... however, it's still showing 0 enabled.

The zero is the normal feed (without the bridge). Download that m3u and look at it in notepad - I bet you’ll see 910 channels.

i think I found it - simple UX bug. I assume you had some filter active and that broke my logic for pinned chan num.

The only filter I used was the tick the box for "Amazon Prime Channels" - and you were right, there were 910 channels (well, 750 in channels haha)

Possible but when I remove all filters, it's still showing me the blanks?

got ya-- regardless, my fix will clean it up for ya. tnx for reporting- it's been a long standing bug by the looks of it - just no one reported it.

wow, this bug has been in here for a LONG time too. Simple fix. Tnx for reporting.

I won't be able to recover your missing Gracenote, so you'll have to use bulk actions to turn back to auto, then next scrape should fill them back in.

Oh sweet, glad it was simple!

  1. Container updates & recordings β€” For nearly all sources, once CDVR starts a recording it's already been redirected to the actual CDN stream (FastChannels does a one-time 302 redirect and then gets out of the way), so a container restart/update mid-recording won't interrupt it. The one exception is Distro, where the container stays in the data path for the whole stream β€” an update mid-recording there would cause a brief drop until the container's back up (usually just a few seconds).

  2. Channel numbers β€” Channel numbers are sticky and persisted per-channel. If channel 7001 exists today, adding or removing other channels won't push it to 7002 β€” it keeps 7001 until that specific channel itself goes away or you manually renumber it. So a series pass/scheduled recording keyed to 7001 is safe from renumbering caused by unrelated channel churn. But yea, if you change chan-num, CDVR won't know where to look for the channel so be cautious changing those.

Is it possible to have more than one HDHomeRun source? I currently have 2 HDHomeRun Prime's and 1 HDHomeRun 4K tuner... but looks like I can only add one by IP?
