FastChannels - FAST Channels aggregator/manager

Case in point. PBS Food is a new favorite over here. Its Gracenote data is actually incorrect, been saying "no longer available" for awhile, even though the stream plays fine. Anyway, FastChannels is pulling in many alternatives! And I was able to compare each of them, along with their default logos and guide data quality. Some didn't extend out very far, and some had a bit of guide data, but without great artwork.

In the end, the Plex feed won. It checked all the boxes for me at least, with guide data for days and thorough artwork. I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to figure this out quite as quickly or elegantly if it weren't for FastChannels! It's great that it lets us customize the channel logos too.

I was running internet on my Mac through an router extension and then cable from it. I changed to have my Mac pull internet directly from my router via wifi. I updated the ip address in the gui and re-added my freeview sources. The only change in my new server is the ip address had a number change from 170 from 175. Even though the ip address in the sources shows the new 170, the channels still try to pull from the 175 so they no longer play. I hope that makes sense. Any idea how to fix that?

try doing a complete refresh from admin/sources (That'll regenerate new M3u/XML files). then probably go into CDVR and refresh all M3Us/XMLs there too to make sure clients have new files.

I'm seeing 2.4GB

Thank you so much for your help. It looks like I got everything working again after the refresh. The change to connecting directly to the main router versus the round about way should help as well.

Well this worked fast and easy. Converted over from the Previous Pluto only image to this. I wish Roku exposed more content (their issue) but it is still a much better interface than what PlutoTV provides. Since FIOS dropped cablecard (and I've dropped FIOS TV) Its about the only thing I'm using Channels DVR for right now.

Thanks for the hard work.

I missed it when reading the release notes, but I see FastChannels now displays the assigned channel number(s) when you click the feed assignment button in the channel list. Some way to see the assigned channel numbers has been something I've wanted for quite a while but never requested. So, thank you for reading my mind.

I just tried to submit a correction to the Community Gracenote Map and got "All submissions failed".

yea I'm currently using make.com webhooks. they only give me 1000 credits a month for free... and i think i blew through it during testing.

it supposedly resets tonight. I know I need a better way in the future.....

I'm only using a small percentage of my 8 exabyte memory
brave_screenshot

Wish I had some of that sweet sweet memory...
What are you showing in Portainer?

660 MB showing in Portainer
Synology also shows 660 MB for the container

I only have 8 GB on my Synology NAS.
I don't know where that 8 exabytes is coming from. Maybe that's some limit somewhere?

What the heck... so why is my container using so much memory?
Notice in my screenshot, I dropped it to 12 sources..
dropped the Roku and Vidaa due to the earlier issues with the roku scrape...
2 other users also show large mem usage...
I guess I'll just deal with it for now...
the container is working and I'm able to watch with no issues...

I have these sources enabled with output feeds
Distro,Local Now,Plex,Pluto,Samsung,Tubi,Vidaa,Vizio

STIRR & TCL are enabled as sources but no feeds created for them yet

it's really nothing to worry about -- that's just saying at some point, it used that much memory.. the scrapers download epg/channel lists and store in memory before writing to memory. so, if a big scrape came in, it holds during scrape then clears out. there's no memory leak folks - all good.

the point of RAM is to use it--just don't use it and hold it.

And I'll hang on to my 8 exabytes of memory, wherever it is!

Multiple channels were disabled sometime yesterday.
I rescraped all my sources and when I do a stream test on them, most show an active live stream.
I can use the m3u link and play them in VLC.
How do I get these channels back in my output feeds?

I have a similar issue. A channel was in both Pluto and Roku. The ROKu version was DRM protected and disabled. The Pluto version is not. No matter what I do, I can’t get it to show up in my feeds even though it’s selectable. I can see it in the preview so it works.

Should I rescrape?

Odd. That function is when a channel is missing from the scrape for 3 consecutive scrapes. I have a hunch those channels are indeed missing from their API (maybe they are removing) but video still active on their CDN.

Not sure best way to handle that. I’ll have to think about that.
