Gracenote Not Updating (TBA on World Cup matches)

I realize this isn't a Channels-specific issue, but wanted to bring it up. For my local Fox station and the 4K feed we're getting a ton of TBA. Very similar to what happened during March Madness (and occasionally with the NBA as the series went long).

Any chance you can bring this up to Gracenote to see if they can fix it?

Getting similar but different issues in the UK - all the current scheduled matches for the next week or so are all called “Round of 32: South Africa v Canada”, whether they are on BBC1 or ITV1. That match was the first match in the round and was played yesterday.

In fact, it is worse than that. None of the matches tomorrow are listed as I think they are to be shown on BBC1, it seems. It appears that the only matches in the schedule are those to be shown on ITV1 and none of the matches to be shown by BBC1 are in the schedule. This is probably because the matches clash with their major focus on the Wimbledon tennis and the football schedules issued in advance were flexible, with which channel was to show matches on a particular day to be decided later. The ITV1 schedule has been updated for the matches they are showing but none of the matches to be shown by BBC1 are in the schedule as of now. A mess, though not caused by Channels.

If only we could easily manually set a recording schedule.

Maybe this could help?

If you select the option to delete and redownload the guide does that fix it for you?

Eric, thanks, that has improved matters a lot - there still seems to be something wrong for ITV1 this evening, but BBC1 now has some matches for the next couple of days and ITV1 looks correct from tomorrow. So yes, looks like it has fixed it.

I did try this a few days ago and but it didn’t fix it then - maybe the channels hadn’t decided which they were going to show until all the first round matches had been completed. The UK national papers were still showing the alternative matches they each might show yesterday, so the confusion was widespread.

I did this and all matches are correct for the next few days.

Well, having just checked, ITV1 has now sorted things out for this evening in the UK and all now looks as one would expect going forward. Excellent.
