HDR Homerun 4K issues

I've transitioned to the new 4K system and have a good number of local stations broadcasting in the new format. PQ is great, much like early day of HD without the crap subchannels eating bandwidth.
Anyway, my recordings are not skipping commercials, minor issue 30 sec, skip works, but worse is I cannot fast forward. Also got a weird display, on a 60 minute recording, I get a display indicating 1631 minutes or such. Is this just growing pains and a future update will fix, or do I need to go back to bit starved HD channels?

Lots of growing pains on both ends, and so far ATSC 3.0 is not entirely ready for general use. But the devs at the broadcasters, Silicon Dust, and Channels DVR are working hard on this.

As of today you'll find 344 posts discussing/commiserating in the following thread — I suggest you jump to recent months — and there are several others discussing specifics like for example ATSC 3.0 and Apple TV clients, or ATSC 3.0 in a particular city.

The issue you're describing is fixed in the beta app (getchannels.com/beta)

Thanks for the info.

I have joined the Beta program, actually tried a few times but my Tivo Stream didn't want me to, so finally I went in and authorized it, will see how it goes.

I am looking at getting a new ATSC 3 tuner but curious about what issues still exist.

matt how is your setup working now these days? are you still seeing any kind of issues?

I highly suggest looking at the silicondust ATSC3 forum for your locale post, if there is one:

Also rabbitears.info maintains a list of live/forthcoming ATSC3 rollouts and technical data:

All in all the setup has been very solid. All my ATSC 3.0 stations are transmitting from the same tower and all come in great with I think better quality than the originals. Only downside is no Closed Captioning at the moment, may or may not matter to you.

Channels handles it much better than it did when I first started using it.

I haven't checked in awhile, but my only 2 issues with Channels and the HDHR 4k were that the ATSC 3.0 channels were showing up as SD in the guide instead of HD, and there was no commercial detection with those recordings.
