This started yesterday, as far as I can tell.
I manually rescanned the channel in the lineup a few minutes ago and no problems. I also tuned to it live and it played fine.

Am I the only one with this problem?
Another recording of House Hunters is scheduled this evening. I will see if it is still an issue.
What is channel 229?
What does the DVR log show for that recording?
You could set a short manual recording for the channel 6104 and see if it behaves.

This is DirecTV's official channel number for HGTV.
I created a custom source that duplicates Channels DVR's built-in DirecTV source and remapped the channel numbers to match DirecTV's actual channel numbers.
This custom source has a higher priority than the one from Channels.
Now that you mention it, I never even bothered to check. 
Right now, I'm away from home and I don't have the possibility to schedule a short manual recording.
However, I can just pick the next show that will start and stop it.
I will try that.
So I picked a show to record on 6104 and it worked fine.
I will see later whether the next show scheduled from a pass will work or not.
Could be it was trying to re-authenticate on that problem recording you had.
I've had that happen where I got the error it wasn't in my package when a recording forced a re-auth. I would then play the channel live and it re-authed fine. Only way to know is look at the DVR log.
I think you are probably right because it is working fine now.
My DVR log now doesn't go far enough to see what happened at that time, unfortunately. I waited too long to check. This is the first thing I should have done.
Generally speaking, I don't consider myself too stupid but I still have those moments.

After I tuned to the channel to watch it live, everything started working again.
