I have a number of sources and channels, and have used the "hide" feature in the source channel list to remove some of them from guide view - but noticed lately these seem to "unhide" on their own, and are not persistent across restarts or other updates. Should they be?
They should stay hidden.
Hiding is done by channel number, so if the channel number changes for a channel, the new channel won't be hidden.
i.e. channel 10 ABC is hidden and then ABC changes to channel 12. 12 won't be hidden, just 10.
I can confirm I can hide them, but they "unhide" it seems when the epg update occurs or possible if the lineup/m3u is re-pulled. I will just hide or eliminate them at the HDHR interface level
So the channels "unhiding" are from an HDHR tuner?
Doing it from Channels DVR or the HDHR UI accomplishes the same thing for an HDHR tuner.
Is it an OTA or Cable HDHR?
Ahh, looks like you aren't using a SD HDHR tuner. You should have mentioned that.
So
I have three types of sources - two standard "real HDHR" units, a custom m3u-list based set of channels from plex, and also the emulator mentioned. I think using Channels web interface, under Sources>Channel list - I can select either the favorite icon (heart) or the small circle with line through it (hide) - and for all my sources, the favorite seems to stick but the hide does not. Not a big deal as I can eliminate channels at the source - which probably speeds the epg updates anyway
