Interrupted recording. Channels did not handle edited end padding well

'Sports personality the year' was over running on BBC 1 yesterday; so went into the DVR settings and I updated the end padding for 'His Dark Materials'. It was originally 3 minutes either side, but I updated the end padding to 30 mins. At exactly the time the old padding ended and the new padding started, rather that just continue, Channels interrupted the recording:

You can see this here:
2019/12/15 22:03:00 [DVR] Job 1576443420-1 His Dark Materials ended prematurely: 26m59.530276s

Can this be better managed. There was no signal issue or anything else, just the transition point from the end of the old 3 minute padding at the end and the new padding that was extended to 30 mins.

I can provide the recorded file it you like and the timestamp of when the transition occurred. It continued to record file, with just a blip when the 3 min end padding ended and the start of the new 30 min end padding began.

Agree, I've experienced that before. If it happens on a TVE channel it might take a few seconds to re-start the recording and you lose that in the recording, not to mention it messes up timestamps.

Also related is the fact if you manually change the padding for a scheduled recording in the DVR web UI DVR>Schedule (say an episode airing tomorrow or later) when the next daily guide update happens, your change is removed without notice and goes back to the default series pass padding for the show.

It was a tad annoying. It was the only glitch in an otherwise perfect recording. Could do with investigating.
