Just gonna say the weather in New York lately has been terrible down here, close to the city. It's been cloudy and snowing on and off. Personally, ABC7 is the weakest for me and whenever the weather's bad, I cannot pull that in reliably.
Thanks all for ideas
Post is up on SD help page BUT i looked at every channel in HD Home app and matched its signal strength to channel list on Channel master web site and im noticing most of my weaker/non existing channels are from WTC transmitter area BUT my strongest channels are from Empire State transmitter area Maybe I need to drag out my ladder and aim my antenna bit more south.....Me play tomorrow if not to cold and windy
While Channel Master might give you a general idea, the gold standard is RabbitEars.Info - Signal Search Map
Very good accuracy if given your address and an accurate Antenna Height Above Ground
That site is almost overload.....lol I will try and play when weather is good
well dragged out the ladder and spent 30 min trying every angle possible still no NBC So ill wait for SD support to respond to my post and see what they think so odd imop
Feel free to use my bandscan as it's a good indicator of NYC OTA (albeit from some distance)
The link for WNBC is linking to WNJU and not WNBC NY. I am assuming it is your NBC + Telemundo. I have not seen this rabbitears page before - that is neat.
WNBC is shared on WNJU’s RF channel.
WNBC is on 35.1
WNJU is on 35.3
RabbitEars shows you have hills/trees (Mills Reservation?) between you and the tower on OWTC
16.9 miles away at 134° true, 146° magnetic. RabbitEars line of sight terrain view
No direct line of site to the tower. I'm sure SiliconDust will make some recommendatios.
The thing is it WAS working fine since i installed it a few months ago then poof NBC is gone etc Ill see what they say over at SD
Any newer tall buildings go up between you and the tower recently?
If they're close to you, could be 3 or 4 story buildings.
I was thinking that as well BUT i dont think so then again hard to be sure Next option is to mount on a vent pipe on my second floor dormer which would be crazy high BUT not now maybe spring time etc
It stopped tuning in for me in southwestern CT recently.
It used to come in at 90-100% signal strength for me, not I don't pick it up.
Edit: Checked another family's house and it is also not connecting to WNBC (4.1 and substations).
Looks like it is operating at reduced power yesterday and today for maintenance.
Unreal i now get crazy good NBC 4.1 but no 5.1 or 7.1 which i wont worry about as they tune fine via TVE crazy weird for sure
