how exactly would you like it to be easier than just adding a custom channels link?

I have the more than 8 but channels only chows 8 channels in the playlists.

I just discovered LocalBTV...I am reading this entire thread and the process to get this setup seems very very technical. Is there a layman's step by step or should I just wait and see if Channels updates to include BTV as a source? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks

What they're talking about is using the Custom Channels Source feature to add an M3U source to Channels DVR as described here.
If that's too technical for you, then you should wait for LocalBTV to be integrated into Channels DVR (which may never happen).
I have watched a ton of videos since the last reply. I have installed the Docker on my MAC. I test created a docker container....I have copied and pasted the setup path (or whatever you call that) and pasted it into the command prompt and added my email address and password. Once I hit enter I get a "dquote>". Does anyone know what this means or why I got this? I don't see this in the instructions anywhere...I am trying to hard to do this. lol.
Hey Yall - I created my first custom Channel for LocalBTV! I copied the test of the m3u file listed above...I copied the link for the epg.xml file but I don't seem to be getting any guide information. Am I doing something incorrectly? ANy help is mucho apprecioto. Thanks.
I'm using a custom channel too for LocalBTV and the field for the EPG is empty. It's been working fine.
Edit: Is there a way to get more than the 92 channels? This is so freaking fun!!! Thanks for the help...my issues is that I copied the url incorrectly.

Keep in mind that you should filter the list of channels and keep only the ones that are part of your TV market.
If they see that people receive channels from other markets, that will be a red flag and they may start adding DRM to the streams. Just saying.

Leave the EPG field empty. Just provide the URL and that's it.
You may have to recreate the custom channel with a slightly different name. If you try to edit the current one and clear the EPG field, it may not keep the edit. There seems to be a bug.
Go into lin-up in channels and map the channels with The grace notes stuff.
The images and listings are excellent.
The guide data stopped working for me. When I attempt to download that xml file this is a piece of the file it gives me.

This is a thread about LocalBTV, which provides local channels in some markets... local channels.
The XML file sample that you posted contains channels that are not local channels, such as A&E East, A&E West, AMC East, AMC West, BBC America East...
Whatever list you are using in your custom channel is wrong and is not for LocalBTV.

If you're really just getting your Local channels (LocalBroadcastTV), there is no need for an epg.xml.
Just map the guide to your local channels.
If you're talking about something other than LocalBTV, it belongs in another topic or forum.
