Don't ask them for refund.
They need the money for the legal battle they're up against.
I think legal battle is over that is why they have completely shutdown.
Of course right before NFL season starts. Will continue to "donate" for the foreseeable future, but suspect most won't and their funding will dry up quickly. Shame, it was a great concept and one I was hoping to use at my family's mountain cabin when the services expanded into their MSA.
They made plenty a profit already.
the point is, i have paid for a service i can not use...which is a illegal thing i think.
but, is a risk of paying for x time in advance..not a big deal there goes $50.

I think donation was a cover up for Subscription and they got caught.
"Donation" required inorder to make the service useable...not just with Channels DVR, but standalone it was terrible. their ad banner in the app took up 3/4 the guide screen, I could only see 2 channels at a time. and the interruptions were unbearable, and i thought Hulu with ads was bad.

I really did not like that they were charging a fee and calling it a donation,
just call it what it is, a normal paid service, like all other streaming services are.
Regardless, i had no issues paying for said service if it made my life easier, despite the fact that i do not like the idea of paying for OTA channels that i can get for free.
But Locast is a special, thing.
And many people can't use an antenna, or like me, an antenna only does so much so Locast as a supplements works well.
no idea how long they are shut down for, or if they are even going to be online ever again.....legal bs takes time. years even.
I am using CBS-6003, NBC-6000, ABC-6001, FOX-6002, KTLA5-6973. I believe not available in all cities but these are the most important channels I was getting on Locast.

It's amazing that people don't get the concept of a "donation". You're not purchasing anything. You willingly gave them money to help with their service. They are a nonprofit, you're donating without an expectation. If you are expecting something then you should get a cable subscription.
I do not consider it a donation if it was a donation they would have offered the service without annoying banners and interruptions and ask you to please donate. ... Instead they required payment to get rid of these.
@Edwin_Perez but you always had the option to donate or not. They weren't requiring you to pay money to use the service however annoying it might have been. They asked for a donation to defray costs. Remember they had to pay rent for the rooftops they positioned their equipment on.
