MacOS DVR server, remux recordings

Using MacOS, has anyone figured out an easy way to remux recordings with edl/json files so that commercials are cut from recorded programs? I would like to export these recordings out from Channels DVR to save disk space and possibly copy remuxed files to iPad etc for travel....

I have not found a software for MacOS that would do the job

You can brew install ffmpeg and use:

You can use something like ffmpeg to convert. While it does not support EDL files, you can convert an EDL file into ffmpeg's own ffmeta format, which can include the same information. A command like: ffmpeg -i movie.mpg -i movie.ffmeta -map 0 -c copy movie.mkv That will take the MPEG-2 encoded movie, the ffmeta formatted information to indicate chapter markers, copy all of the streams in their original formats (including secondary audio, etc.), and output a Matroska container. Actually, after making this post, I found this:

comcut can export .mpg that cuts away commercials according to .edl file. After that it's easy to remux/re-encode video (depending on source stream) to a .mp4 and add metadata with Subler
