Migrating All recordings to a larger hard drive

I have my recordings on a 2TB hard drive that is attached USB 3 to my imac. I have an 8TB hard drive that I would like to all recordings to. Is there a special process that needs to be preformed for this to happen smoothly?

Changing External Drive and Want to Retain Current Recordings

If I need to change the external drive, can I merely move the directories on the current drive to the new one and make changes in the application to point to the new drive? Thanks in advance!
