I'm fresh out of ideas on how to get NBC and it's related channels into Channels. Xfinity is pretty much saying they won't authorize the CableCard in my HD HomeRun Prime (that has been working for 7 years). Of course, TVE isn't working for NBC and that leaves OTA (which is also not an option for me according to https://www.antennaweb.org) as I am 100+ miles away from the NBC affiliate. Has anybody found a streaming solution?
XFINITY Stream on FireTV plus capture device and ADBTUNER i it means that much to you.
If you cut the Comcast Cord and go with Fubo, you can pull in your local NBC through the VLC Bridge (search Fubo Project). Some have said there local NBC is now DRM, but I've not experienced that in several markets that I manage, so it's worth a try if you are needing NBC.
Cutting the cord just to GET NBC from XFINITY to FUBO you also lose a lot of TVE Channels like discovery family of channels etc ...
True. I supplement with Philo for now. I may at some point switch to ADBTuner, but for now, I can manage 3 households with one Fubo account so the supplemental cost of Philo is still net positive for me.
With a HDMI Capture Device plus XFINITY Stream which is free to all customers with a firestick and ADB tuner you can record any Channel you subscribe to including the Premium Ones HBO/Showtime. With XFINITY Stream you get 5 Streams.
Example ....
Does xfinity have a website that you can stream from? I get the channels that are not TVE using Chrome Capture and Spectrum's streaming website.
With the money you save by dumping Xfinity, you can get Fubo TVE, Fubo VLC Bridge, and Philo, and still save about $50 per month. That should get you all the channels you would ever watch.
People may not know that Fubo's plan is specifically labeled "Friends and Family". So there is no cheating involved.
I get free Peacock ... Paramount/Showtime shows/Max Shows that I can record ... so Pricing all the Different Services that I would need I will stick with XFINITY and record any Channel I want.... Streaming Services are getting as expensive as Cable and can soon be designated as Cable so the Prices will zoom.
I rather pay a little more to only have to deal with one streaming Service. Plus I have 2 Primes that are working at no Charge. Plus I rent not one Cable Box from them no longer required.
Since you haven't been around in a while, you may not be aware of all the options we have now for getting DRM protected and other stations into Channels:
This is one of many nested links to these topics (hint, hint, wink, wink, even searching "NBC" will get you all these same answers).
Thanks for the Xfinity stream solution. There seem to be a bunch of choices for ADB tuners and firesticks, so before I go wild with my credit card on amazon buying stuff that may (or may not) work. Could you advise the most stable and easy to use/setup ones? (if that is allowed). Thanks again!
First you have to get the hardware.
You have to decide how many Streams you want XFINITY Supports up to 5.
Then you have to get an Encoder with as many inputs as streams you want.
URAY and LinkPI are what users recommend here.
For Each Stream you want you will need a Firestick as Google devices do not support XFINITY Stream.
