Need Some Help With DVR + Premium Channels (HDHomerun)

Hi there, long time regular OTA user and now using DVR with HDHomerun Premium. I set this up on my QNAP NAS, configured remote access etc and started downloading the OTA guide. Here is where I am at and need help:

  1. DVR configured, can see it from the Channels DVR (iOS) app
  2. Guide data on web (QNAP page) shows ONLY OTA guide not premium channels
  3. App (iOS) shows channel callsign logos but Guide is blank
  4. Can access any channel (including premiums) from iOS app and watch live.
  5. Due to guide showing blank cannot schedule anything or record anything.

Please help. Thanks !

@mavsfan815 only problem is I don’t see that in the QNAP web UI for Channels so is there a beta QPKG for the beta on QNAP NAS ?

You don’t see “Check For Update” in a box under the Version, under Status on the Settings page?

No I see the following, no Check For Update

Version
2018.08.02.1754
Up to date!

Uptime5 hours
Started Today at 5:15 PM

The button should show where it says “Up to date” after a few minutes. Can you refresh the browser and see if it appears?

If not, please post the IP of your NAS DVR and what kind of computer/browser you’re using. I’ll send instructions on another way to update.

‘Check for update’ will show where it says ‘Up to date’ on your screen. If you just normally click the ‘Check for update’ button it’ll show ‘Up to Date’ for awhile until ‘Check for Update’ shows up again.

HI there, still nothing, used Safari, Firefox & Chrome and still does not show up. This is on a QNAP NAS. I even did a freeform text search for Check, Update etc to see if I missed it somehow on the page and still nothing

Please post the IP of your NAS and your computer type (PC or Mac?)

Unless they changed it this command will do the same as clicking the button… replace the IP with the IP of your QNAP.

curl -XPUT http://127.0.0.1:8089/updater/check/prerelease

Unfortunately nothing shows there at all.

DM sent, thanks

Suggest rebooting the Qnap NAS.

Also Qnap issued firmware upgrade for my NAS earlier today. Be sure to update to latest.

@tmm1

Updater doesn't appear to be working on my Qnap:

After a few minutes reverts to 8/2/18

Check Log tab for errors

Usually indicates the update is getting corrupted during download. Bad internet connection?

I’ll retry later, Thanks

Only posted in case it helps with your analysis for @Wildcatz_1.

It looks like @Wildcatz_1 had the wrong time setup on his NAS, which was why the Check for Updates button wasn’t showing up.

I had the Channels DVR software do something a bit weird on me when I was first installing everything. I’d realized, after-the-fact, I’d neglected to set the NAS up for a network time server and it was not configured for DST. I corrected those oversights.

After that the DVR had an odd idea of what the time was. (Sorry, I do not recall the details.) I think I simply rebooted the NAS to straighten it out.
