Option to use TheTVDB instead of Gracenote?

Hello,

I've recently found some old DVDs of MythBusters and I have imported them onto my NAS.

While the show is recognised on Gracenote, channels is unable to fill out the metadata such as the episode name and description. I've checked, and it seems TheTVDB.com has better metadata. I noticed you guys are already using TheMovieDB.com as well as Gracenote, is it possible to implement TheTVDB too?

I used a tool that renames all my files automatically and it used TheTVDB to format the file names. It seems the Seasons are named after the year the episodes were released. For example: Season 2003, Season 2004, etc. This matches the information here MythBusters - TheTVDB.com

However, it seems TheMovieDB names the seasons in order. Such as: Season 1, Season 2, etc. `

I think this might be why TheMovieDB and Gracenote are unable to give Channels the Metadata. Interesting edge case? I will rename the seasons to 1, 2, and 3, but it would still be neat if channels had TheTVDB access

It was stated they can't use it becuase its artwork is the wrong aspect ratio

There’s no plans to add anything else for tv shows since other sources don’t use our 4:3 aspect ratio for tv show art.

Most software is moving away from TVDB. See Infuse is now using TMDB for TV shows - Metadata & Artwork - Firecore

We have started integration TMDB for movies and plan to add TMDB shows support. It's complicated and will take time.
