Pausing and resuming on another client (room)

I've seen it mentioned in the features, but is pause and resume on another client only for 'recordings' rather than live pausing?

If I pause a live stream at the moment, I can't see any obvious way to resume it elsewhere?

I'm using a combination of FireTV/Web/Android clients.

So you could essentially get the same functionality by hitting record when you wanted to swap device? Would that then let you watch from that point elsewhere as it recorded?

Obviously you'd have the slight niggle of having to delete it after.

Tricky to do because the buffer is local to each client

Why not have the option to buffer on the DVR. Isn't that what is happening when you have tuner sharing turned on?

The buffer is always on the client when watching at home, even with tuner sharing on. It's just how the app was developed, from before the DVR even existed. Could change in the future, but that's how it works today.

Gotcha. So the app just draw's it's source from the DVR's buffer when tuner sharing is on, and buffers it again on the app's device?

The DVR essentially acts like a proxy. There isn't much of a buffer, it takes what comes in from the HDHR and sends a copy to every client who wants it.
