Pluto-Windows_4C Released

@Soapm I updated the Linux version to be on par with the Windows release.

  • Brought the version number to 1.2.0 to be inline the with Windows Build
  • Updated to match fixes/changes in Windows 1.2.0 build

Update process:

Stop Service:

sudo systemctl stop plutoforchannels

Download latest Linux release and replace the PlutoForChannels installer in your Pluto folder. The one with your .xml and settings files.

Open a terminal and navigate to the Pluto folder with the PlutoForChannels.

Make it executable:

chmod +x PlutoForChannels

Run the installer:

sudo ./PlutoForChannels --install

Seems to work fine in windows version.

Is there any chance for a TUBI version like this? Not a fan of docker for windows.

I had looked at doing a Tubi proxy some time ago and found it to be a lot more complex than Pluto. I am also busy with other projects at to moment and do not have time to handle another.

@ktjensen2 After looking over some other projects that pull Tubi data in, it might be kind of simple. I'll look into it.

I have a release of the Tubi Windows Bridge available here:

If you are not using the pre-release Channels DVR server, do not use the epg, only the m3u. If you are on the pre-release you can add both to your Custom Channel.

Is this still working for the UK feed? When I try to add the custom channels for UK I keep getting the error "500 internal server error" The US east & west work fine for me. The log shows it requests an m3u and generates an epg for UK, I can't verify that it did so successfully. I am running the latest version.

I'll look into it.

I found the issue and will have an update soon.

v1.2.3 is released with the UK IP fix.

Great! I will try it this evening!
Thanks!

Did that fix your issue?

Yes, that works! Thanks!
It seems like the transition to commercial breaks still act flaky on the UK channels.
I do need to go back and make sure that I am using transport stream setting.

Make sure you are using Mpeg-ts and not HLS in the custom channel settings.

Bobby, should the Tubi Bridge program source also be set the Mpeg-TS? I assume so, since it's just like the Pluto one.

The only reason I set Pluto to Mpeg-ts is because of the way Pluto injects commercials. Setting it to Mpeg-ts allows Channels DVR to remux the stream and helps to overcome some of the freezing Pluto experiences during commercial breaks. Tubi doesn't seem to have that issue.

Bobby, I just installed the newest v1.2.4 version. Does this add anything for use with Channels DVR? I see it generates "vod.json" feed links instead of .m3u, etc. So I would assume this is NOT meant to be an upgrade for people only using it for Channels?

If so, should I revert back to 1.2.2 or 1.2.3 (I'm in the states), or is it ok to just leave this one running?

It's fine to run it, all it is doing is capturing a json file of the VOD Movies from Pluto. I am using it with the Nucleus HTPC. I have not found a way to use it with Channels DVR, but anyone can pull the json and use it in their application. I will add a toggle to disable the VOD in the next release.

Awesome, thanks!

I saw the note on the Github about the "Nucleus HTPC", but I have no idea what that is, so wasn't sure. As long as it'll work fine for my Channels DVR use, I'm happy and good to go.

So the new v1.2.5 version. The ONLY difference between that and say "US-EAST" would be that it provides local area commercials if they are available? Otherwise the available channels, etc are the same?

Correct. Server side ads are now enabled. I was getting tired of the Pluto placeholder commercial on everything. I also added a toggle to disable the VOD
