Which version is that?
I don't think you had implemented the version numbers in the dashboard yet with this version, but it was the last version before you implemented the multiple streams at once capability. It had a date stamp of 2/25 I believe. Not at home right now so can't do any further checking.
Thank you. I will look into the multi stream changes.
One last piece of info for the version that works fine. There is only the option for one login, not the 4 you had implemented right after that.
Thank you. I think I found the issue. During commercial breaks, Channels may be trying to reconnect to the stream and I am sending random client ID's for every request. That could, and probably is causing the issue. I will try to change the logic to retain client id on a per channel basis and see if that helps.
Great!
I have always had things set to HLS… hopefully you have found the issue.
But I find it weird that paying a channel via the web interface it does not drop connection but is just stuttering and kinda like it’s dropping frames
Ok. I have a fix I am testing on 3 TVs right now. One had a glitch and recovered correctly. I will test it for a little while longer and make sure it it working as intended. I will update the app as soon as I am confident it is fixed. Thank you for the great feedback everyone.
Sorry to have put you through this, but happy to help ;). I will check back. Thanks again for you're doing!
Found it. v1.0.3 (I think)
I can add a "me too" to this. I suspect the Pluto gods dont care for people recording their shows at will by not using their horrible interface.
So far, it is playing fine with the new changes. I'm going to continue to test and hope it works.
Well, I don't watch anything live, only after it's recorded. So maybe in my case, I wouldn't see this issue.
Hold off on v1.1.1. I think I found another issue.
Too late - lol. Just installed a few minutes ago. Screen goes black or frozen when a commercial comes up. Hopefully that is the problem you are fixing.
If I back out and go back in, the commercial will play. Then sometimes it will freeze again.
The majority of the black screens in commercial breaks is due to Pluto's server side ad insertion causing a video crash that resolves after the commercial ends. Some of the ads switch to different resolutions or use a different audio codec which causes a stream discontinuity. This is a known issue with Pluto stream being viewed like this. You will notice some commercials don't have audio or will have video related issues. I have tried to handle these stream discontinuity as best as I can.
v1.1.2 has been released. You will still notice flaky commercials, but they should not cause a stream crash anymore. Pluto's ad insertion is not ideal for streaming.
This was an issue before though...no idea how they dealt with it with past solutions. I have even had recordings in the past have adds that were different resoultuion mid video.
I only been playing a channel, Star Trek DS9 channel for a few min, and first ad break, it freezes, but does come back, but then audio is way out of sync when show comes back....seeking ff.or rr seems to fix the sync, so far. But, still is flaky and an issue. Have too see how my mother manages with things. I told her to no keep backing out and reloading the channel, it should resolve it self.
Reinstalled the previous version I mentioned and no problems at all with commercials , voice sync or freezing. Tried it on multiple Pluto channels. This is one of your original versions with only one channel allowed at a time.
I had the issue, even with one of the first few versions before multi stream was added
