I thought this topic was put to rest. If you don't want auto-updates and think Sage TV and Plex are better. Then please go to Sage TV forums. The horse is dead, please stop kicking it.
CDVR has to frequently update server. Full stop. The devs want it that way. They make the software, so it stays that way.
Im glad you maintain 700+ servers. Good for you. Everyones wife aggrees CDVR is mission critical. Trust me, I hear about it if a recording is interupted.
I dont think your going to be happy no matter what.
