Question about new feature under Commercial Detection

I just got the 6/30 server update and noticed that under Commercial Detection there is a new check box that says: Generate commercial editor thumbnails after recording

Can someone tell me what this is and what happens if the box is checked?

When editing commercials it was taking time to generate the preview snapshots on some systems. Now you can have those snapshots made right when detection is done so they are immediately available when editing.
