Okay, that is a weird one. If the file doesn't exist, it should move on in life!

Anyway, I've made a modification to Reliable Remove to do an additional check to make sure the file exists before trying anything. Also, I've added something to the scheduler that will check 30 minutes later to see if the file is there and try to remove it again, just in case. Let's see if this helps!

Can the backup step skip over the temp.txt file, if it exists? Because when it balloons to 3+ GB the three backups means they’re taking 4x the space.

Could you share an example of a m3u8 you want integrated? Are you saying it doesn't work when you use a m3u8 extension but it does work if you just change it to m3u? Or are you doing some other steps in between to convert the file? What exactly are you seeing and doing?

The thing is, Channels requires the final output to be a m3u, so PLM is looking for certain things one would expect in a m3u from the input perspective. If it's just an extension or encoding issue, then it seems doable; but if it involves steps of converting things to make them compatible with what PLM is looking for in an m3u, then I don't know about that. My gut is saying no, but I'll take a look if you can provide some detail and rationale.

Yes, it does not work with the m3u8 extension, but once I change the extension to m3u it detects and outputs to channels just fine, so maybe just have your program auto change the extension when a m3u8 is loaded?

As of v2024.12.23.1553, you can now upload m3u8 files.

As highlighted in the release notes, this is not m3u8 support of any kind beyond that. If you or anyone else can put together a clear use case and examples of what you'd like to do with these m3u8 files after this that you'd like PLM to do, I'll check it out and see if there is something logical for the extension to do. As of now, the entire discussion both here and privately has left me completely confused and with a giant headache, so I'm putting it aside.

I would like to clarify that I need support for the m3u8 file extension. The only difference between an m3u8 file and an m3u file is the extension itself. I have a m3u8 playlist hosted on my private home server, and for the sake of automation, I need the m3u8 extension to remain unchanged. Currently, I have to rename the extension to m3u for PLM to recognize the file. I hope this explanation is clear. Thank you for your understanding.

For what it's worth, I'm using some .m3u8 files with PLM and they're working fine. Which is why your question remains confusing to me. In fact, the popular SamsungTV docker outputs its file as playlist.m3u8 and that's been working fine with PLM for months now. So the fact that you're having to rename the suffix of your particualr file to .m3u for PLM to recognize it, tells me there's something else funky going on with your file. Perhaps with more specifics you're able to share, there will be an explanation for what you're experiencing...

As a matter of fact, PLM doesn't care what the extension is at all (or if there even is an extension) when it's parsing through source playlists. All it needs is a compatible format inside the file.

I came back to this thread to search for info on channel numbering after seeing how easy PLM made it, and found this. I’ve always wanted an easy way to renumber channels, and PLM could be it (although I know that’s not your intended purpose of PLM). Is there a way to reorder the parents after creation?

PLM is whatever you need it to be!

Anyway, you can either just change the starting station number, which will renumber every station (but keep their relative position to each other at time of creation); or just put in whatever number you want (including with decimal places):

I do that for some, but not all, so a nice mix depending upon needs and desires.

It would be beneficial to change utilize the [Select2 dropdown](https://select2.org/dropdown) instead. This allows the ability to search for items in the dropdown, speeding up assignment. The user would still be able to scroll through the dropdown list too.
