If anyone has an Apple TV client (tvOS / iOS) and wants to test something for me, can you please PM me?
I missed the batch file. I'm now on v2025.03.13.1706. I'll let the automation run overnight rather than running it manually.
Thank you for the assistance
Morris
I've discovered this fix has caused a new problem with the New & Recent Releases automation. Basically, it thinks that anything it isn't involved with doesn't belong and deletes it. Please turn off this automation for now until I can get both items working in harmony again.
Thank you for letting us know. I found it off and I'm surprised as I had set it on and change the time it runs.
Okay, New & Recent Releases should be safe again in Prerelease v2025.03.14.1658.
Windows Defender found "wacapew.c! ml" and gave it a high alert.
Researching is found "It is not necessarily a Trojan.
It is a component of PyInstaller, a Python tool that converts a Python script into an executable for computers that don't have python installed, or where you just want to double click and run. If the developer used the flag --uac-admin, PyInstaller adds wacapew.c to the executable to request the user receive a UAC Prompt to request Admin privileges."
I saw you are using Python so I suspect this is what is going on yet wanted to check before launching SLM.
Thank you,
Morris
It's not a problem. This exact situation is discussed in the Troubleshooting / FAQ section of the Wiki:

Thank you,
It's interesting that rere are a few detections when I uploaded SLM.exe to virustotal.

You might want to put a short note about this in the Windows install section with a link to the details.
v2025.03.14.1658 has correctly removed the stream links for the seasons that were removed on Netflix.
Thank you for resolving this,
Morris
As of v2025.03.18.1154 of SLM, the below items are now complete. There's also many performance improvements throughout, so you'll probably notice things like End-to-End taking a lot less time than they have in the past!
The program will now take care of this itself, so you should be all set upon upgrade.
This is now in the main version, along with a few other related fixes, so please upgrade back to the standard path. Due note that when using the Prerelease you will not be prompted that a new version is available, otherwise.
Documentation has been updated. Heck, a whole bunch of documentation and organization has been significantly updated for ease of finding things and clarity!
I've updated to the production code v2025.03.18.1154. Thank you for the fixes and documentation updates.
I have also verified the fix for the .DS_Store issue in v2025.03.18.1154. Thanks again.
Is there any sort of work around for series on Netflix? Going to the landing page for the show would be reasonable but on my Apple TV instead of going to the series landing page the 'title' URL just results in the first episode of the series playing with no obvious way of getting to the list of episodes.
in the left bar, drop down "Stream Links & Files"
Then click "Modify Programs."
Thanks, but I know how to modify them. The problem is the stream links generated are the same for every episode. Which I understand is expected for Netflix shows but when you open the generated stream link on Apple TV it doesn't open the 'title' page for the show instead it auto-plays S1 E1 and the Netflix UI doesn't seem to have anyway to get to the title page to pick a different episode.
Question: On a show where you've already watched at least one episode, when you launch it via the Stream Link, does it go to the next unwatched episode? This is behavior I've seen from Disney+, so maybe Netflix changed something recently (at least on Apple TV) that mimics that functionality.
Otherwise, a few things to check, all related to Stream Link Mappings:
- Did the default Netflix mapping get changed from just "Movie" to "Movie or Show"?
- Did you create some other type of mapping related to Netflix that might change its behavior?
- Try adding a mapping where you replace
https://withnflx://(see here for details). Warning that this will make the Stream Links not work anywhere but Apple products, and maybe not even in all of those.
I’ve tried it with the url mapping set to movie and movie or show. On my appletv the link behaves the same regardless off if ‘title’ or ‘watch’ is used in the url.
On iOS the Netflix client seems to take you to the series page when using a link with ‘title’ but the tvOS app seems to behave differently.
I’ll try your suggestions and report back. Thank you.
The 'nflx://' URL didn't seem to make a difference
It did seem that after I watched an episode in netflix the '/title' URL does result in the 'next' episode playing and not the first one.
That confirms to me this is a Netflix issue in how they set up their app to accept Deep Links, similar to Disney+. Unfortunately, unless JustWatch finally updates their links to go to individual episodes, there's probably nothing you can do about it.
