Search for Videos in Apple 6.x Apps

Since updating to version 6.x of the iOS and AppleTV apps, I can no longer search for videos in my library. They don’t appear under any of the tabs (TV Shows, TV Movies, Shows, etc). I can still search for them in the web interface and the results I expect are returned under the “Videos” heading.

Was this removed intentionally? Is there a setting I need to toggle, a search index I need to rebuild, or something else on my end?

Happy to add/submit any diagnostic info which might be useful (screenshots, logs, etc.). Just let me know what and where.

Absolutely not. Search is still there and working as far as I can tell. We haven't heard any other reports of it not working.

When you say "can no longer search" do you mean you can't see the Search section? Or that you can use the Search section and it's returning 0 results.

I can see the Search screen and it still functions with one exception: The files I’ve imported as “Videos” don’t appear in the results in the iOS and AppleTV apps.

I can still search and see them on the web app. It’s limited to this one “media type” and the Apple apps.

OH, you mean, capital V, Videos. Gotcha.

We'll look into seeing if something happened. They should show up under the Episodes tab, and Video Groups show up under the Shows tab.

Do you see your Video Group results under Shows?

I'm seeing the same thing. No search results for videos.

Yes- that appears to be working. Took me a bit to figure out the “Video Group” terminology.

Nice to have confirmation it’s not just me!

Whenever I’m the first to report a problem, I usually assume it’s PEBKAC. I noticed this the day I upgraded - should have reported it sooner.

@maddox Are you looking for any more information from me on this? Are you able to replicate on your side?

This has been fixed, but has not been provided in a beta, as we are currently having trouble submitting betas right now. We'll update this thread when it finally goes out.

This was resolved in the latest TestFlight beta:

Woo hoo! I see it working in the beta. Thanks @maddox!
