Setting up Channels DVR

I want to test Channels DVR by installing the app on a one drive WD My Cloud. I realize it will be slow with no transcoding or com skip. I just want to see how it records, the quality and the playback.

If I install this app on my existing WD My Cloud:

  1. Will I lose anything that is already on that drive
  2. Or will Channels simply set up its own folder/directory for its recordings

What firmware is on your MyCloud?

You can install and uninstall the DVR at will. It won’t affect anything else on the drive.

Thanks for the info. The firmware is version 2.3.181.
