() showing after program name in epg

I am passing an m3u and epg xml into channels, and things seem pretty good. Have a collection setup as well.

But what I am finding strange is that for various channels, I am seeing () after a program name. And its not all channels.

For example, on my AMC channel, I am seeing program names like "Buck ()" or "The Salvation ()". Or on the HBO channel I see "Bad Boys ()"

Does anyone know what be causing that? Something in the xml epg file?

Your EPG is not providing years for the movies, so they are blank. Channels shows movies as:

Bad Boys (1995)

Your third party EPG data lacks metadata.

I'm generating the xml from IPTVboss and using the tinyurl links. And just came across another older post where someone mentioned having to modify that url.

I'll look for into later tonight. I can only do so much remotely from a phone today.

But thanks for getting me looking in the right direction.

Well, I'm not sure if it's the epg or not. I updated the url and I do not see a change. And then I realized that metadata does show when I click on the program. Yet the guide shows the () ?

I will try and download and load the xml file locally later tonight to see if its an issue with url or file as well.

No year in the metadata.

Should be resolved in latest DVR pre-release.

I can confirm upgrading my server to the beta release fixed the issue. And the year now shows next to the program title with no changes made to the epg file/data.
