Something's amiss

ATV app shows tuner… Check mark is greyed out, shows no channels. Scanning the network does nothing. Web GUI does pretty much the same. Android TV clients show no channels, web GUI shows no channels, iPhone app works like a champ.

Started about 30 mins ago. Everything’s been rebooted. Help !

V2.1.36. Option to add zip code literally just showed up. Added it, no difference.

Huh weird. Does the HDHR web UI show channels?

Yep. Of note, looks like the backend updated itself at about 7. Stopped working at about 10.

I’m guessing the Android and ATV clients do “stuff” via the DVR but the iOS client is alot more independent ?

Can you screenshot the HDHR area on the web UI settings?

Seems like some sort of network issue between the HDHR and DVR. Try scan network in the gear dropdown shown in the screenshot.

Did that already. No joy. Might be useful to note that long-pressing the tuner in ATV (refresh device/logos only menu) shows the tuner listed as “(null) (1046a82b”. The null may be expected but not knowing the ins-and-outs it looks strange.

Right, so I’m going to have to apologize for lending you up the garden path. This was down to an Aruba wireless firmware update. Aruba Instant OS 6.5.2 works great. 6.5.2.1 and up don’t.

Can you let me know how the DVR tries to discover and talk to the HD HomeRun, please, so I can get a ticket in with Aruba TAC ?

Uses a UDP broadcast for discovery. The libhdhomerun code is open source on GitHub under SiliconDust’s account.

Thanks. Does the iOS version do something different ? Weird that would find the HDHR and not Android TV clients or the DVR backend. Or, rather, I guess it found it but couldn’t get any further.

On the subject of the iOS client, it works great. Haven’t had any problems at all with it so far.

iOS and tvOS should ask the HDHR for channels directly.

All other apps go through DVR, which is showing 0 channels for you
