TVE - Cannot Find Smithsonian Live in Hulu Channel Scan

Title says it all - TVE - Cannot find Smithsonian live in Hulu channel scan. I can watch OK through my browser.

(Server is on Windows 10 PC, source is Hulu + Live subscription)

Smithsonian does not offer TVE.

Smithsonian Channel is part of the Paramount MTV Entertainment Group https://www.keepparamount.com/ and does not offer a Live linear stream https://www.smithsonianchannel.com/

Only way to get the normal Smithsonian Channel into Channels DVR is via CableCard Tuner (HDHR Prime) and have it in your cable tv package. (back when i had Comcast/Xfinity, that channel, as well as Nat Geo / Nat Geo WILD, only offered in their top tier cable package.)

Another way is via this HDMI project, I've got Smithsonian Channel, BBC News, MTV Classic, News Nation, and a few other channels into CDVR this way, using an Android TV dongle and IPTV encoder.

HDMI for Channels

There are a lot of HDMI IP encoders available on Amazon these days, under brand names like URayCoder and iseevy These have been discussed a bit in the past here: I picked one up to try it out, and it works quite well. You can choose between H264/H265, select the bitrate and a lot of other options. Understood, thanks. Just surprised that it isn't listed in the rescan like some of the others as "Hulu Live does not provide TVE access to blank"

It's not listed for a rescan because there is nothing to scan for. It's not that Hulu doesn't provide access to Smithsonian, it's that Smithsonian doesn't offer a feed to provide access to.

One of the channels on Pluto custom channels, https://nocords.xyz/, is Smithsonian Channel Selects. While it's not Smithsonian Channel Live, it does play most of the popular shows they offer.
