In the tv program info, I often see two “HD” labels.
I know one is for high definition, but what’s the other for?
If it’s HD audio, I find it odd, because sometimes I see two HD labels for Dolby 5.1-enabled programs too.
Where? On which device are you running Channels
The Tags
in the guide data can include multiple "HD" Video tags.
HD 1080i, HD 1080p, HD 720p, HD Unknown, HDTV, etc.
Audio: DD 5.1, DVS, Stereo, etc.
What is providing the guide data for that one (doesn't look like Gracenote data)?
If you have the recording, look at it using the API & Feed Explorer
and see what is shows for "tags"
(which comes from the guide data provider).
I am also seeing the duplicate "HD" tags on Android. However, I checked on iOS, and there are no duplicate "HD" tags for the exact same airing, so this must be a bug in the Android app.
It looks like Gracenote data to me. I looked at Bob Hearts Abishola in my Gracenote guide data, and it seems to only affect season 1 episodes of this show, since those airings all have more tags than airings of other seasons:
- Season 1:
"Tags": ["CC", "DD 5.1", "HD 1080i", "HDTV", "Stereo"]
- Seasons 2, 4, 5:
"Tags": ["CC", "HD 1080i", "Stereo"]
For season 1, I suspect "HD 1080i" and "HDTV" are both displayed as just "HD" in the app, thus the duplicate "HD" tags.
