The new Custom Virtual Channel shortcuts to watch future episodes look like they conflict with the PiP on Apple TV. If you have a PiP window open and select a future episode to show via the Play button or selecting the future episode and selecting the Watch button then the PiP window grows to full screen but the currently playing show doesn't change to the selected episode.
I think you mean Virtual Channels? That is to say, I just tested this and experienced the same.
