Web interface playback

on my Win 10 i have Edge and Firefox. both work, with a beginning delay with the extend, but not with the connect. the iphone works fine with both. im on wireless AC.

Thanks, that helps. The EXTEND doesn’t need to use the DVR transcoder, so that explains why that works but the CONNECT doesn’t. Sounds like there is an issue with the transcoder output that is causing issues with the windows decoder.

It’s only on my window PC too. Only for some channels as well, is there a way I can see which of my prime channels are coming through as MPEG2 vs MPEG4? Also, something I have noticed is that the same recordings that I cannot play on my windows PC are choppy when played remotely on my work mac verses the recordings which play fine on my windows pc and smoothly play on work computer.

Yes via the web interface for your prime under the Channel Lineup

Hmm, supposedly no difference in type. I assume AVC HD are the mpeg4? Also I can’t find this activity button anywhere, anyone have a ss of their interface with it?

Correct

Still no dice on this issue, very few recordings work on PC. Firefox or Chrome. I have been trying to find a trend about which files will play and which wont. One question is how are the tags like HDTV, LIVE, CC, DD5.1 etc generated? So far the only files that will play are files without the tag Stereo, but this of course may be random. Any progress on this? Is there a python package to read the mpeg2 metadata? I may annotate working files and run a supervised ML to figure out possibilities…

Tags are just metadata provided by the guide data. Theyre not terribly reliable for things like audio formats. Plenty of things have 5.1 tracks and don’t have the 5.1 tag applied.

The issue with playback not working on windows has been fixed.
