ok, I will get the fire stick and test it as soon as I can.
Thanks!
Just another bit of info. If I use the Open Remote button, I can interact with the Fire Stick and see the changes thru the Windows Camera settings.
That is good, we are at least connected to the fire stick. I will grab the stick and check everything out with it.
I went ahead and ordered one for testing. It will be in in the morning. No one can find their spare fire stick. That is why we all need a "Mess with it later basket" where we keep our fire sticks and such.
Can you use your remote control to open the DirecTV app on the fire stick without any issues?
Yup, using the remote button in your app, I can choose Directv, click on a channel, and it starts fine.
@daldana7296 I am at a loss. The Fire Stick worked fine with no issue for me. One more thing to try. Change the tuner priority to 1 instead of the default 99.
Tried that suggestion, but no joy. Would running CC4C on the same PC create any conflicts? Or the AMD Adrenaline software?
@daldana7296 I was able to duplicate the issue. It's the Cenmate capture card. The Fire Stick does not seem to like them. When I used some of my other capture cards, even the cheap ones, the fire stick worked fine. The Onn and CCwGTV works fine on the Cenmate, but not the Fire Stick. It would not tune at all. I switched back to the other capture cards and it works without issue.
I think the $11 Cenmates are the issue. I have the more expensive one, I think $18 one, and it works fine. The cheaper one does not even tune the Google TV devices. It could just be the one I bought to test with is a POS too, IDK. Either way, it works fine on the other capture card dongles.
I have the $18 dollar one, so there must be something going on with both of them. Rats!
What other card would you recommend?
I hate to recommend anything now. My first Cenmate worked fine and this second one does not. The card I am using with the Fire Stick is this one:
@Bobby_Vaughn You might want to see what I'm doing with ah4c right now. I was able to implement AI-generated closed captions, slipstreamed into the video. It might be a cool feature to add. You're more than welcome to re-implement it if you'd like.
I like it when open source supports open source. So, I figured I'd mention it here.
I've been following that thread, but I wasn't sure if ah4c would work with capture cards and a Fire TV Stick.
No, it's really for network encoders.
That's what I guessed.
you could try this neat trick
sorry to hyjack bobby
That's weird, I'm using a Fire Stick 4k Max gen1 with the Cenmate and no issues. And it's the cheap one.
My guess is QC issues with these.
That's what I think too. I have one that works fine and the other one stops the ADB commands from tuning when a device is connected to it. Very odd.
