1 linux pc with 2 external outgoing remote accounts

Good day Everybody. hope everyone is having a excellent day.

ive been a member now for approximately 6 months or so.

so what im trying to do is use linux using docker with portainer im trying to acheive my account using remote access and setup my moms account using remote access and ive been having a little issue. i can install my moms account and it shows up on a separate ip address and portainer says its running. now when i try to goto x.x.x.x:8089 for my moms ip that i setup it then goes to my account thats logged in.

im running 1 instance of chdvr on the main system without docker and my moms instance within a container within docker using seperate hard drives.

also when i do goto my ip address or my moms (they both again show my acct). it says it seeing both ip addresses on the acct on the login page.

what exactly am a doing wrong?

im fairly new to linux ( im using mint). ive used dos/windows my entire life. but i understand the jist of it all {kinda}.

i would greatly appreciate any help.

now your probably asking, why isnt this guy using the computer local. because i use the pc for emby and also steam for gaming. its over my buddys house because he has 1000/1000 dl ul internet. and i only get 25/1000 at my house.

Thank you again
Jerry

The default port is 8089. If both channels instances are running on 8089 there will be a conflict. On the docker instance you need to change the port to something else.

And I'm pretty sure you need to notify the developers which WAN side IP address and forwarded port you want associated with which account.

@chDVRuser I thought they can only change the remote port on the server. I did notify the devs of the port change on the remote end

@scooter_scott would you know how to change the port on portainer

I do not. My docket container is all command line and text file

It's not clear from your post if the two instances of Channels DVR you mention are reachable at the same or different WAN IP addresses. And if each one is under it's own separate account. That's why I mentioned it.

Each server has its own account.
mine and my moms.

i have 2 seperate ip addresses

one through the installation of the main linux and my moms within a container in docker

What IPs are you using ?

@tmm1 192.168.1.161 mine and 192.168.1.166 my mom

@tmm1
its snowing this on both

If I remember correctly you would click on the container and choose “duplicate/edit” and it’s on that page. Either it’s own line there or within environment. Not sure. Change it and hit deploy container
